While sportswear has been a thing for quite some time now, it seems like tailoring is definitely making its way back to the men's closet. Focus on a transition that seems to come right on time for the Holiday season.
First of: do not panic! This doesn't mean the end of oversized sweaters and comfy sneakers. To the contrary!
The key here is to see tailoring pieces like fancy condiments to your daily looks.
Stick to your pair of sneakers (you’ll never go wrong with white sneakers) and prefer oversized pieces to create a less serious look.
For this holiday look, I’ve gone 100% oversized : from the black high waisted darted pants to the green velvet jacket and the loose bowling collar white shirt. I slid into my favorite pair of white sneakers and immediately felt as classy as comfy !
Something was missing though… Accessories of course!
And here comes my favorite part about sportswear chic : large and simple cuts simply gives you more wiggle room for fancy accessories.
Plus, there is just something about the Holiday season that makes it more acceptable to wear shiny things without looking tacky.
So I went for it : I tried jewelry! And not the low profile kind : gold rings and Versace-like medusa pendant. I wasn’t sure about it at first (the one and only ring I’ve worn so far was my wedding ring) but I got used to it and I believed it brought some (Harry) style to the overall look.
This look was a lot of fun to compose and I’ll be honest with you: I'm pretty happy about the result. I love casual but I believe a little fancy never killed nobody!
> TIP : The high waisted darted pants and the oversized jacket will be must-have pieces in your 2021 warderobe.
