Lilac fever

Although it is still quite chilly out there, the arrival of the first buds have officially announced spring season’s kick-off.

Just like a snowdrop, I’m forcing my way through the unfreezing fashion ground, revealing this spring’s master color : lilac.

After months of quiet sleep, the nature is slowly coming out of its winter quarantine, revealing the first touches of colors in our gardens and parcs.

Green leaves, yellow daffodils, pink tulips… spring and its flower power are here and it feels good !

Spring is a time for change, a time for new.

From home deco to fashion, spring comes with this irresistible need for freshness and originality : darker color tones are blown away by a chilly spring breeze and pastel colors are blooming all over the place like primroses and crocus do.

One of these pastel colors holds a very special place in my heart. It’s a color that smells as good as it looks, a color that was one of my grand parents’ favorites.

Not only has lilac perfumed some of my best childhood memories, it also has colored most of this years’ spring collections.

Let’s go pick some in the garden while discussing the following outfit, shall we ?

  • A cable knit roll neck jumper in lilac for a smart and trendy transition from chilly winter to colorful spring

  • A washed-out ripped skater jeans whose holes might have been caused by climbing up the tree to cut out fresh branches of lilac

  • A pair of white chunky sneakers and vintage Slazenger socks to bring me back to my 90s years, which I mostly spent in my grand parents’ garden

  • A bunch of gold jewels, like little light drops trembling on top of a freshly cut bouquet

TIP 1 : Pastel colors are (once again) a spring hit ! Choose yours carefully according to your skin tone.

TIP 2 : I hope your old pair of 90s jeans still fit because they’re back in style!

It’s getting cloudy. We’d better head back before the (purple) rain starts.

Before we part ways, remember this : just like the flower it refers to, lilac might be a short-lived fashion trend. Go get it now before it withers.
