The over-shirt is the extra layer you desperately need this mid-season. So, get out of the woods and hit the city with this oversized checked flannel over-shirt.
Let’s be honnest : I’m not really the Canadian lumberjack type. But I’m happy to borrow his shirt for a fun afternoon in the city !
That day actually felt like playday in rue Pierreuse (Liège, Belgium) and I didn’t want to be all dressed-up to just hang out on the playground. I was looking for something casual, something that cool kids would wear to go smoke cigarettes in the parc without telling their parents.
“Although I wasn’t one of the turbulent kids when I was a teenager, there was something rebellious in me that day that made me want to dress like them.”
So I muted my fancy self for a second and put together this Brooklyn teenager-look from my closet :
An oversized checked flannel overshirt in burgundy (open wide, loose buttons)
a ripped washed-out flare cut pair of jeans that my dad bought for me when we first visited New York together
a printed Abercrombie & Fitch round–neck white t-shirt
a pair of vintage American flag All Star sneakers (loose laces, of course) that I bought on a secret trip to Paris when I was 16
a pair of orange tinted glasses to bring a very May 68 vibe to the look
I tied up my hair in half a bun and I was ready to enjoy my big red cup of vodka-soda in front of this very cool graffiti.
> TIP : Wear the overshirt at the waist for an even more « i don’t give a damn » look.
Why don’t you cut some slack on the adult life and go back to teenage years for a day ?
