Fifty shades of beige

September 1st: the city is buzzing. Parents go back to work, kids go back to school and I go back to b... beige.

And just like that, thousands of people say goodbye to their summer holidays to rush back to their busy lives: early morning alarms, coffees on the go, traffic jam... We can definitely kiss our swimsuit goodbye because it’s time to go back on track!

Although, since we’re lucky enough to experience a sunny transition towards the fall season, we might want to hold on to these summer clothes for a little longer and give our shorts one last chance.

After all, why wouldn’t we? Think of all these New York City private schools that require from their students to dress with tailored shorts and pleated skirts. Think of these privileged kids whose everyday dress code is limited to these very pieces of clothing.

Today I decide to come up with my own mid-season uniform to make a fashionable comeback into the working life:

  • An oversized shoulder padded beige blazer

  • Mini shorts in light grey

  • A white shirt, loose cut with bowling collar

  • A pair of high white socks

  • A pair of white sneakers

But if I was in New York, where would I go to find these cool kids? I figure they’d be hanging out on some famous Museums’ doorsteps. Isn’t there where they gather in the series?

So I went to the best alternative I could think of in the area. I went to a place that somehow reminded me of the MET Museum (in a much smaller scale). A place place where culture meets architechure.

« Where am I?

That’s a screcret I’ll never tell.

You know you love me. Xoxo.«
