I believe there is no better transition between dream and reality than arts. This post paints the portrait of a very pop-art outfit that seems to come straight from the sweet memory of my childhood dreams to the striking reality of our fast-paced consumer society.

A few days after I published my « Childhood dreams » blog post, I stopped by the Boverie Museum in Liege to visit the Andy Warhol expo. It was a good occasion to keep the dream going while developing my knowledge on this artist, whose artwork I discovered for the first time at the MoMa (Museum of Modern Art) in New York in 2013.

It only took me a few minutes to get soaked into Andy Warhol’s Pop-Art universe, whose colors and prints transport you half way between cartoon and real life.

From the iconic Campbell’s soup cans to famous people’s portraits (Marylin being most probably the most popular one) Andy Warhol’s art reflects the mass production culture of his time as it materialized into repetitive prints on all kind of supports, from paper to fabrics.

Today, not only has the production to be massive, it also has to be fast.

We’re talking fast fashion industry , same day delivery and it feels like everything is due for yesterday and outdated the next one.

We have to be faster than flash in everything we do, experimenting a constant « quick attack » against our everyday life.

As I pass by this amazing piece of art in a park nearby (unknown author), I realize I’m on a deadline for my next post and decide to create this news flash that pays tribute to both (pop) art and (underground) culture with a fun and bold look.

On my count : ready, set, go :

  • An electric blue knitted sweater, with allover flash prints as a tribute to Andy Warhol’s work

  • A very Michael Jackson combo with white sporty socks and black denim jeans.

  • A pair of black sneakers with gold details that shine like electric sparks

  • A black sports cap (worn backwards) and a pair of black sunglasses for the cool kid style

Our everyday life rhythm is a hundred miles an hour and it’s important to sometimes take a break and enjoy the present.

If we took the time to slow down for a second, we’d be surprised of all the beautiful little things that surround us.

Art seems to be everywhere, making culture an essential part of our lives.
