Open door to the fall season

Updated: Jan 30, 2021

The fall season has officially started, turning our closet color palette into a big pile of dead leaves. Focus on the season’s star pantone color : rust.

No breaking news there : fall usually dresses up with warm colors that all weirdly sound like food (orange, cinnamon, burgundy, chocolate, mustard…), so when I walked by this beautiful wrought iron gate surrounded by holly, I’ve decided to welcome the upcoming season in a delicious and yet fashionable way.

As you may have noticed, I've been obsessed with overshirts lately.

And while I enjoy its casual look very much, I wanted to challenge myself to make it part of a more sofisticated outfit.”

To do so, I started with an all-in black look (short cut classic pants and turtle neck).

Once I had a plain base to work with, I knew I couldn’t go wrong with the fabric and color of my over-shirt, so I picked this autumn winning duo : rust and velvet (yes, velvet is back !).

I find it very interesting to see how such a neutral black base can really help a season’s master piece stand out in a very classy way.

Finally, to light up my look a little, I chose a pair of black patent leather boots, a gold double-buckle belt and a gold medallion.

I believe this look proves that there are more than one way to wear your clothes.

Be creative, keep it on the safe side with neutral bases and reinvent your own fashion each season.

After all, fashion is an eternal cycle !

TIP : If you wear a pair of short cut classic pants with socks in fall/winter, make sure your socks reach the middle of your shin. There is nothing more annoying than a falling sock when it gets chilly.

Don’t you agree ?
