« Should I stay or should I go ? » What if there were an outfit that could accomodate both situations ? Get ready for an unusual match : Sunday cardigan vs Saturday night white shirt
It was a Saturday of October that I was about to spend in the house, not doing anything special, really.
I got up early to watch the season's finale of Modern Family and by the time my wife woke up (around 11:30), I was done with my series and cup of coffee.
We had brunch together and she scrolled back under the sheets before I could say « pancakes ».
Although the idea of enjoying another day off with my wife was tempting, I knew sunny days like this one was quite rare and I decided to get my ass out to enjoy it.
I only had very little time before the sun sat. I had to hurry but I couldn’t possibly go out in my boxer shorts and Friends t-shirt…
I needed an outfit that I didn’t have to think through, something quick and easy.
I entered my dressing room and put together the following « emergency look » :
- A white shirt, loose cut with bowling collar (that I wore the night before and left on the chair of my dressing room)
- The « never go wrong » combo denim slim jeans and camel boots
- An oversized light brown cardigan that got promoted from Sunday old stuff to knitted master piece
- A vintage St-Christophe gold medal and a pair of mirror lens sunglasses to make it look like I really tried
I tied up my hair in a half bun, kissed my wife goodbye and went out for a walk.
I quickly reached the vantage point of my afternoon stroll and as the last rays of sunlight hit my sunglasses, I realized that my new « chic hobo » look wasn’t the star of the day. The amazing view on the city was.
